Everyone has coaches. We are blessed to be your coaches, but even Z, Chris, and I had coaches. The three of us have learned from various coaches from around the world, all of whom are badasses, all of whom who taught us a lot. Personally, I've trained under and learned from a wide range of coaches. From professional athletes to philosophers, my coaches have come from many wildly different places and each of them has provided me with a different perspective on fitness, life, CrossFit, and just plain awesomeness.
I'd love to give you all a huge rundown on all my coaches and tell you why they're so sweet and what I've learned from them, but that's too big of a post. Instead, I'm gonna point you towards the blog that one of my coaches runs: Talk To Me Johnnie. John Welbourn, a former NFL offensive lineman, owns and runs CrossFit Football and also owns CrossFit Balboa in Costa Mesa. He's been a huge part of my development both as an athlete and as a coach. On his blog he answers emails regarding strength training and the power athlete, life, and what it means to be a lifelong student.
John is easily one of the most knowledgable coaches in California, maybe in the nation. He knows a ton about nutrition, strength training, anatomy, physiology, etc. Check it out if you wanna learn a little bit from a great resource.
