Vince Lombardi is one of my favorite role models because he instilled in his players a burning desire to win. It is easy to think that winning only takes place on the grandest of stages, during the Super Bowl or World Series for example, but there are many opportunities that present themselves every day that can end up in our own personal win columns. Lombardi knew that in order to win a championship his team needed to win enough games during the regular season in order to have a record worthy of a playoff spot. He knew that each win would build on the previous one and help his team gain the necessary momentum to be successful. This same concept can be applied to our CrossFit training. We set goals that are out of reach at the present moment and then train towards them. Similar to winning games during the season, every workout is important because it helps us get closer to our destination. In order to achieve what we want we must do things the right way - we must commit to our training program, stick with working on mobility, and eat clean food to fuel our bodies. Winning itself is not necessarily a difficult thing, finding the commitment it takes to win is what is challenging. Concentrate on making winning a habit in your life and see how many goals you can set and achieve.
"You don't win once in awhile and you don't do things right once in awhile - you do them right all of the time! Winning is a habit."
