Consider that question for a second. Why do you do what you do? I ask this of myself quite often and the resulting answer usually sounds like, "I do this because I want/need that." If you don't know what you're doing then you become a machine, a robot, something not human. We are designed to be inquisitive and to ponder things. We are supposed to live our lives and do what we do with conviction. Now ask yourself this: why do you work out? What specifically is it that you want to achieve? Time spent in the gym is tough but if you know why you're here it will not only make your effort a little easier it will also strengthen it and help you accomplish your goals faster.
