At CrossFit 818, many of our clientele have very busy schedules so here are some great app choices for your iphone or droid to help you achieve and maintain all your health and fitness goals with just one click of a button.
Sleep - Sleep Cycle
Sleep is the number one most important detail to your health and fitness and here is a great app to get you to your perfect nights sleep....
Sleep Cycle uses the accelerometer in your smart phone to monitor your movement while you sleep and determine the best time to wake you up. While you're asleep, you go through cycles from light to deep with occasional dream-state REM sleep. Ideally, waking in a light sleep phase ensures the most refreshed and rested feeling. Sleep Cycle tracks these phases through the night and wakes you when you're in that zone.
Once you've set the alarm, you place your smart phone on your mattress under the fitted sheet so it doesn't move around. Over the course of a couple of nights, Sleep Cycle will record your sleeping patterns. You then have a
30-minute window until the time on the alarm to be awakened in your lightest sleep phase, and you can also use your own music for the alarm.
Stress Relief - Breath to Relax
This app helps focus on your breath and relaxation to relieve stress and lower your cortisol levels. When cortisol is high it will make it very difficult for weight loss, now all you have to do is click on this app and you can kiss
your stress goodbye.
Food - Whole Foods App
This is a wonderful app for all types of diet including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and many more. You can also save and email grocery lists, and get a list of groceries with the recipes you choose.
Diet and Nutrition - Fooducate
This is a great app to keep you in check with all your health and nutrition goals. All you have to do is scan your product and it will bring up the nutrition facts and ingredients for the product so you know exactly what you are
putting in your body before you actually consume it! Now you will be aware of all the "hidden" ingredients that these food companies are placing in their "healthy" products.
Fitness - LogsItAll
This is one of the most popular apps and has the complete collection of CrossFit workouts including Fran, Cindy,
Helen, all CF Heroes (Murph, J.T., etc.), CrossFit Load and benchmark workouts plus 65 other excercise types pre-loaded. Simply select the workout you've done and LogsItAll does the rest. Look up workout definitions, share your training progress with coaches and friends and benchmark your workouts against thousands of other CF'ers from around the world.Now you have no excuses on why you "can't" WOD!
