Today's workout is about applying yourself maximally and efficiently: once to lift very heavy weights and once to lift moderate weights a bunch of times very quickly.
Often it's easy to get caught up in the middle of the workout and just start going hog wild without paying attention to whether you're in the right positions. This doesn't just mean you don't look pretty while working out; it means you're less efficient, generate less power, and are also more prone to injuries both small and large.
I challenge you to approach today's workout with the mindset that you will give everything you have to moving weight, while also maintaining the proper mechanics, technique, and form. Give it a shot.
During the first part, you'll basically have no choice to be very inefficient (that is, you'll have no way of having terrible form) because if your technique is off, it'll be very difficult for you to lift very much weight. During the second part, however, the weight is much more manageable. My tip: leave your ego at the door and choose a weight that will push you while allowing you to stay within the boundaries of decent form.
I know a lot of you hate CrossFit's "F" word, but if you were to just use it more in your day to day training, you'll see much greater results over the long term!
