The 2013 CrossFit Games Open
The 2013 CrossFit Games are just around the corner and the Open is starting on March 5th. Last year we had a great time participating in the Worldwide Open, the first round of the CrossFit Games qualifiers. Basically, throughout the five weeks of the Open, the Games release one workout each week (on Wednesday night) and registered athletes have until the following Sunday evening to complete the workout at a local affiliate and submit their scores to the Leaderboard. At the end of the 5 weeks, participating athletes are ranked according to their performances and the top from each Region are invited to Regionals.
Just like last year, the Open workouts will be included into our regular programming on Thursdays and we'll also be turning Saturday's Wreck Shop into our weekly Open event in which you'll get another chance to do each workout in a more competitive and exciting environment. Also like last year, we're looking to get together with a few of our local friends' gyms to do a big party and finale event for the last week of the Open.

Yoga at CrossFit 818!
Yoga makes a triumphant return to CF818! Join us Sundays at 11:45AM with Amanda Hamm, our resident instructor. Yoga is a $20 drop in or $79 for a 5 pack of classes. I was in class this past weekend and it was wonderful. Between all the hip and shoulder opening work we did, we even got a chance to practice our handstands and inversions! It was a great time, and I hope more of you join us next week.
