When determining whether an endeavor is a success, one must look at two factors: 1) was the initial objective completed and 2) were lessons learned that would allow for the individual to repeat the success in the future.
This past weekend, fourteen CrossFit 818 athletes completed our first challenge by setting a baseline time for the benchmark WoD "Jackie" and then, 9 weeks later, completing the workout again after two months of CrossFitting. The result? A huge success! The average improvement was over 15% for the group. Congratulations to Chris, Marty, Kiran, Tyler, and Morgan for taking home the top 5 scores. Our next challenge announcement will be coming soon, so keep an eye out and I hope you will all participate. Thanks to everyone who participated in our first challenge and who came out on Saturday to support the competitors!
On another note, some of you may remember that just over 30 days ago I committed to dial in my nutrition with the Paleo diet and the help of Stronger, Faster, Healthier supplements (including their fish oil and grass-fed whey protein). I've heard several comments from CF818 members, friends, and family that I've lost weight and look leaner. I have indeed leaned out and lost inches from my waist, but I actually put on 6 pounds of body weight! I'll chalk that one up as a great success, as well!
