Developing systemic strength is one of the best ways to increase your overall level of fitness. Here at CrossFit 818, we've been specifically incorporating regular strength and power movements over the past several weeks in an effort to improve your fitness overall. As you get stronger, the weights you use in your metabolic conditioning workouts become relatively lower and lower percentages of your maxes. By focusing specifically on your strength, we're giving you the ability to do more work in a shorter period of time. The relatively high loads, in conjunction with your metcons, are also a great way to burn fat and build lean muscle! So enjoy the heavy lifting and, more importantly, enjoy the gains you see in your overall fitness as you become stronger!
