It's not a dirty word, but instead the greatest expression of speed, power, flexibility, and technique in weightlifting. The Olympic Snatch requires an athlete to take a weight from the ground and, in one continuous movement, lift the bar overhead receiving it with locked arms.
The snatch is a complex movement and good technique takes time to learn and perfect, so don't get frustrated if it feels awkward at first.
