Goal setting is an important part of life, but no goal will ever be reached if you just focus on the end result. There have to be steps leading to that goal and there have to be steps leading to those intermediate steps, and there even have to be smaller checkpoints to reaching those mini goals.
For example, I have a goal to make it to the CrossFit Games. An intermediate goal on the way there is to place better at next years Sectionals. A smaller step to making that goal is to have a clean diet and train right. And the smallest step in that series is to hit my WODs hard. So when I have to climb a rope, hit a lift, row, or jump, each of those little pieces are a small victory on the way to meeting my goals.
So enjoy those small victories; they all add up. On top of that, it's all the small victories that provide a lot of the enjoyment we get from the journey. Find some small victories today.
