The shoulders are the most mobile joints in our bodies and we put them through an incredible amount of wear and tear throughout our lives. Whether you're using them to move heavy weights, hang from a pull-up bar, or just sitting at a desk in a bad position for hours on end, your shoulders are being subjected to numerous stresses that accumulate. But I bet many of you didn't know that one of the worst things that happens to your shoulders occurs during sleep. If you're sleeping in a prone position (facedown, on your stomach) then you are unwittingly your shoulders' worst enemy! Sleeping on your stomach puts an inordinate amount of stress on your upper back, neck, and shoulders, so do yourself a favor and flip over! Just like babies... Back is Best!
