CrossFit has a lot of skill-based movements. Things like, double unders, kipping pull-ups, handstand push-ups, handstand walks, muscle ups, etc. Although kipping pull-ups, handstand push-ups, and muscle ups require a base level of strength, they are what we refer to as high skill movements. While we don’t do all of these movements in our workouts, movements like double unders, kipping pull-ups, and hspu’s make regular appearances from week to week. I wish I could say that showing up to those workouts is enough to nail those movements down. Unfortunately, high skill movements require a lot of practice, more than what we can accomplish in class. Whatever movement you are trying to improve upon, I encourage you to show up to class 10-15 minutes early, or stay after and do drills to improve that movement. Don't know what drills to do? Need help figuring out what to work on? Or how to do a certain movement? Ask one of your coaches, we'd be happy to help!
