Patience is an important skill in life that is necessary in the pursuit of any goal. We live in a world where instant gratification is the norm and the realm of fitness is no different - results are expected to materialize through the use of pharmaceuticals and gimmicky workout contraptions that are supposed to eliminate the need to put in a hard day's work. These shortcuts seldom work because the goals that we set for ourselves are not meant to be realized overnight. Improving your level of fitness is a lifelong plan that can appear insurmountable on its face if it isn't broken up into smaller, more manageable projects. Whether you are an advanced athlete looking to PR on your clean and jerk or a newcomer looking to perform your first strict pull-up you must be patient because your goal might take weeks or even months to achieve. Focus your effort today so that you will get to where you want to be tomorrow.
Today, I challenge you to commit to having the patience to become who you know you are.
