Malcolm Gladwell, in his book Outliers, talks about the secret to success in any undertaking is putting in the time to practice, whether it be sports, art, business, or whatever you wish to master. How much time? Try 10,000 hours! If you want to master a skill or an art, according to Gladwell, you need to put in 10,000 hours of practice. When you think about it, the idea makes sense, and Gladwell even offers a few notable examples including an Olympic Gold medalist swimmer and a world-class violinist.
Are you willing to devote the hard work and time necessary to master a skill?
