Every year in August and September I look forward to FaceBook pictures of ambient temperature gauges in peoples’ cars. Yes… This week it’s certainly a little toasty in Glendale, but that no excuse to miss time in the gym. In fact, it might help you sweat out that raspberry donut and skinny iced triple caramel frappe-latte-cinno you had this morning for breakfast. Hot weather can actually be really good for your body.
Heat and sunlight can have a positive effect on your mood, alertness, and Vitamin D intake. Studies have shown that the death rate is higher in cold weather areas and hot air is actually better for your lungs and heart. When your body works to regulate heat, your blood pressure can increase to unhealthy levels, causing long-term damage.
What better way to get some sun, and raise your core temperature, than spending an hour exercising with your friends at CrossFit 818. Get in here!
