Growing up, my dad had a few rules when it came to the sports I played:
1) Have fun.
3) Have more fun.
Before games or tournaments, he would sit me down and ask me what the rules were. His logic behind it all was that at the end of the day, it was just a game. If I wasn't having fun, what was the point? I've found that with CrossFit, it's pretty much the same. At the end of the day, it's just a workout. It should be fun! Granted, our workouts are brutal most of the time, but that makes it even more important that we have fun. A positive, and fun attitude can go a long way. In my own training, I've noticed that if I'm bummed out or having a rough day, carrying that attitude into my workout just makes the workout worse. On the flip side, if I'm on cloud nine and having an amazing day, my workouts go great. So have fun and enjoy you're time in the gym!
