If you've noticed over the last couple of months we've been incorporating more pull up/muscle up practice. While kipping pull ups are an efficient way to churn out a lot of reps, they can wreck havoc on your hands. As you start to develop calluses, it's crucial that you take care of them so that you don't rip up your hands. Moisturizing your hands, shaving your calluses down flat regularly, and investing in some Natural Grips are all things you can do to prevent rips from happening and keep your hands feeling good. Ripping your hands is sometimes glorified in CrossFit. You just worked your butt of in the workout and you have the proof of blood, sweat, and tears to show for it. But that shouldn't be the regular occasion. Your goal should be to keep your hands as intact as possible every day so that you don't have to sacrifice your workout for the sake of your hands. It'll also make showers and washing your hands less painful!
