Wait...what? Four out of the 5 workouts are done? Sheesh. Time certainly flies, especially during a fun time like the Open. Corny but true.
It's been really rad watching everyone come out Friday nights to workout, judge, cheer, and support each other through these workouts. Even cooler is watching the "firsts" and PR's occur. A lot of you PR'd your Clean and Jerk after doing a whole bunch of toes to bar, deadlifts, and snatches. Then came back the next week and got chest to bar pull ups. Say what?! Those moments are the ones I look forward to most as a coach. I can't tell you how excited it makes me to see all your hard work pay off and have y'all do things you didn't think you were capable of. That's what this is all about. The Open for us, is all about you and your fitness. Pushing yourself, with a little help from adrenaline and a bunch of people yelling, to go farther than you thought possible. Don't waste your time and energy comparing yourself to other people in the gym. If you gave the workout your honest to goodness best shot, your score isn't important.
This Friday will be the final Friday Night Lights and it's certainly not one to miss. The Wodcast Podcast will be here to record, we'll have some prize giveaways, and as usual, it'll be a one heck of a good time. So bring your family and friends to cheer you on as we close out the Open.
Any guesses as to what the movements will be? (Hint: they probably rhyme with schmurpees and flusters)
