This Sunday at 11:45am marks the return of CrossFit 818's Yoga! The many benefits of Yoga to your overall health and fitness are well known, but Yoga can also help make you a better CrossFitter. We're proud to introduce Amanda Hamm, a tremendously talented and experienced Yoga instructor. Here's some more about Amanda in her own words:
"My journey of yoga began at the local YMCA. I appreciated the balance of effort and ease that yoga provided, merging highly physical demands with a softness of the breath and mind. As a longtime dancer and athlete, I experienced multiple injuries. The alignment-based work I found in yoga spoke to my need for intensive body awareness and desire to push my edge safely. I have found more strength and stability in my body and mind through yoga, and see it as a necessary compliment to any athlete's training regimen. Yoga not only offers a chance to find proper alignment and more flexibility in the body, but offers the practice being present. I believe both of these components serve to reduce the risk of injury and prolong and enrich an athlete's career. I have been studying yoga since 2008 with my teacher, Tony Giuliano. I have received my 200 Hour Level certification and am on the path to 500 Hour certification."
Amanda understands the demands of CrossFit and her class will be tailored to help you achieve better mobility and proprioception in a fun, learning environment! We'll see you on Sunday at 11:45!
