Do you ever look at professional athletes or even other people in the gym, and wonder, "how in the world did they get to be that good?" While there is some genetic predisposition to being good at certain sports, or just sports in general, the best of the best spend hours upon hours training and perfecting their craft. They are consistent with their training schedule and don't let themselves off the hook when life starts getting in the way. I don't think anybody enjoys getting up at 4:30am, but the dedicated athletes in the world get up anyways because they know they have work to do. Even though most of us are just training to lead better lives, taking time off should be planned into your training schedule so that you can stay on track with your goals. Life isn't perfect, so there will be times where unplanned time off happens whatever the circumstances, so what do we do when that happens? Come back to the gym as soon as you can! It'll be tough those first few days while your body adjusts back to CrossFit, but once you're passed those 3-5 classes, it gets better and easier. Keep yourself accountable and commit to the things you want!
