When it comes to elite fitness, one has to make sure that his training of the mind is equal to the training of his body. We have but so many hours in a week and one body (our own) to test new workout protocols, diets, methods of recoveries, etc. so we must take the best of others' experience and apply it to ourselves. Without picking through that vast base of knowledge and experience, we would spend far too much time experimenting through trial and error to ever reach our goals. When it comes to hacking the brain and staying motivated, I like reading my friend Chris Mello's CPMFITness blog. He approaches elite fitness from the standpoint of elite self-motivation, understanding how we tick and how we can drive ourselves to meet our fullest potential.
