Since today's workout focuses on the power clean, I thought I'd present you all with a clip that takes a look at Olympic Gold Medalist, Pyrros Dimas power cleaning 170kg (375lb.)
One of the more common faults we see on the power clean is a lack of a full hip drive. You'll notice that Dimas' gets his hips through to the extent that they make contact with the bar on its path up his body. The hips making contact with the bar are a symptom of him fully opening his hips during the drive; in other words, he's not using that contact to "bump" the bar up. You'll also notice that his arms remain straight until after his hip drive is completed. Finally, pay attention to how he drives his toes into the floor for as long as possible before his feet move to his receiving position. No donkey kicking!
Now let's see some PR's!
A: 3RM Power Clean
B: Every 30 seconds for 8 minutes perform 1 Power clean at your 3RM weight
