When I first started CrossFitting, I noticed that I was a bit bigger than most other CrossFitters. I also noticed that most of the elite guys were somewhere around 5'8"-5"11" and around 165-185lbs. At 6'2" 215lbs. it was easy for me to make excuses about bodyweight exercises and my difficulties with them. I rationalized that CrossFit was a smaller man's game. Yeah right! Since that time, I've learned my lesson well and I've heard many other people say the same thing in a different way: CrossFit is for young people, CrossFit is for men, etc. The bottom line is that CrossFit is perfect for you. About a month ago, I had the pleasure of meeting and working out with Peter, an amazing athlete who happens to carry 265 lean pounds on his 6'4" frame. A couple weeks after that workout, I saw him compete at the OC Throwdown and finish in the top 10. Peter made no excuses, pullups, ring dips, double unders, running; he did it all and he did it well. Add a refreshingly sincere humility about his athletic prowess and you have a perfect CrossFitter... who just so happens to be built like a football tight end!
