I visited a conventional gym the other day and saw a dozen or so people on treadmills and ellipticals watching TV or reading magazines. Wow that looked boring! Plus, if you're comfortable enough to read a book or watch an episode of Days of Our Lives, then you're probably not working very hard! Yes, conditioning can be monotonous at times, but not if you constantly vary the source of your conditioning. Running is just one way to accomplish your goal; a jump rope, rowing, box jumps, and burpees are just a few ways you can change things up when it comes to your condition. While it takes a special type of individual to consider burpees fun per se, I would rather throw some burpees into a workout once in while than constantly look to running for my conditioning.
What types of exercises/movements do you use to work on your conditioning?
