A year ago, CrossFit 818 opened its doors to those who were seeking a better way to incorporate fitness into their every day lives. Looking back over the past year, I am humbled by all of you who have trusted us with your fitness and I am looking forward to what the next year will bring. Thanks for being a part of the CrossFit 818 family!
The 2012 CrossFit Games Open is entering its third week and I am proud of everyone who is participating in the CrossFit Games this year. While the CrossFit 818 team will likely not qualify for the Regional competition, we're doing great in the deepest and hardest region in the world!
Finally, this coming Sunday a group of CrossFit 818'ers will be participating in the Glendale Downtown Dash 5k. At least a dozen CF818ers have already signed up, so if you're interested in participating talk to Geoff or check out the link on our Facebook page for more details.

For those of you who weren't able to come in yesterday to attempt the 2012 CrossFit Games Open Workout #1 (or for those of you want to give it another go!), Saturday at 12 noon will be your chance! For the next 5 weeks, every Saturday at 12 noon, the gym will be open for participants in the Open to attempt that week's Open workout. The only requirement to participate is that you register for the CrossFit Games open at games.crossfit.com. The Saturday noon gathering will NOT count as one of your week's classes! So sign up for the Games today and you'll get the opportunity to add on an extra workout a week for free!
Also, I don't want to hear any excuses about not being "ready" or how you aren't good enough. Yours truly completed the first Open workout (torn calf and all) on one leg! So sign up and we'll see you on Saturday!
CrossFit Games Competitor Katie Hogan got 91 reps... can you beat her???
30 Overhead Squats (135/95)
