We all wear multiple 'hats' in our lives, from being a parent or sibling to being a coworker to being an athlete. One of the hats I wear from time to time is that of a Commissioner on the Audit Committee in the City of Glendale (yes, really). Today, I have another Audit Committee meeting and it got me thinking about the importance of auditing in areas other than finance. For athletes, it is important occasionally to audit our fitness to ensure that we are getting the results we are expecting and, if not, to determine the reason why. If you find that the the results are as expected or even beyond, then identifying the variables (e.g. consistency, effort, program, and/or nutrition) that contribute to those results can help you repeat them in the future. So, take the time to look through your workout and nutrition logs (you are logging, aren't you?) and audit your fitness. You may just find how to improve on an already great thing or how to get a derailed train back on the tracks! As always, if you need any help then come see your coaches!
