The holiday season, especially Christmas, is my favorite time of the year. The holidays bring about a lot of fun and joy. From gift giving, to eating delicious food, to celebrating, to being around your loved ones, there is a magic that surrounds these last few weeks of the year.
This time of the year is also a great time to take some stock on your goals. Did you check off your goals for this year: fitness/health, life, career, or otherwise? Did any of your goals change as the year went on? Were there any goals you didn’t attain? Why not? By asking ourselves these questions, we can formulate new goals for next year. When coming up with your goals there are five things you want to think about:
Is your goal…
A goal of mine is to get a muscle up by the CrossFit Open in March. It’s specific, I can measure it, it’s attainable, it’s realistic, and has a time stamp on it. In order to get a muscle up, I know hoping and praying isn’t going to get me there. I need to improve my chest-to-bar pulls ups, ring dips, and work on my wrist strength and flexibility. From that one goal, I can now work backwards and figure out a plan of action that will get me to a muscle up by March.
What are your goals for 2015? How do you plan to achieve them? Sound off in the comments and let us know!
