eliteEATS' "Dinner's On Us" Night
You may have seen those eliteEATS branded lunch boxes floating around the gym or you may have heard me talking to some members about how absolutely delicious the meals they provide are, but you're still wondering what it's all about. Well, on Wednesday February 13th (that's TONIGHT!!!), Stefan (owner of eliteEATS and friend of CF818) will be here during the evening providing free meals to our members after their workouts (I guess you could eat it before too, but why would you want to do that to yourself?!).
This way you can get a chance to chat with Stefan, learn more about how eliteEATS works and get a taste of greatness! He'll also be hosting a cooking class on March 17th, so keep your eyes out for more details on that later.
The 2013 CrossFit Games Open
The 2013 CrossFit Games are just around the corner and the season is going to begin in just a few short weeks. Last year we had a great time participating in the Worldwide Open, the first round of the CrossFit Games qualifiers. Basically, throughout the five weeks of the Open, the Games release one workout each week (on Wednesday night) and registered athletes have until the following Sunday evening to complete the workout at a local affiliate and submit their scores to the Leaderboard. At the end of the 5 weeks, participating athletes are ranked according to their performances and the top from each Region are invited to Regionals.
Just like last year, the Open workouts will be included into our regular programming on Thursdays and we'll also be turning Saturday's Wreck Shop into our weekly Open event in which you'll get another chance to do each workout in a more competitive and exciting environment. Also like last year, we're looking to get together with a few of our local friends' gyms to do a big party and finale event for the last week of the Open.
More details can be found at the CrossFit Games site, as well as the sign up link!
Yoga at CrossFit 818!
Yoga makes a triumphant return to CF818! Join us this Sunday at 11:45AM for Amanda's first class as our resident instructor. Yoga is usually a $20 drop in or $79 for a 5 pack of classes, but this Sunday you're welcome to come try it out on us in order to get to know Amanda and her teaching style a little better! Yoga is capped at 12 people, so let me know if you want me to reserve you a spot! Hope to see you there :)
Our Monday/Wednesday/Friday mid-morning classes are a hit and we've got childcare ready and available for all you mothers and fathers out there who want to get a workout in but can't leave the little one on their own. Come by, bring the kids, and give us a shot!
